biography

Roxane Lee, (she/her),  Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, has been teaching piano for over 20 years. She attained Permanent Professional Certification from the Music Teachers' National Association in 2020.   Since 2010, Ms. Lee has provided private piano instruction to students with special needs. She has been playing the piano for over 25 years and has performed as a soloist, accompanist and ensemble member. Ms. Lee has Masters degrees from both Penn State and Georgetown University. She is also a certified Musikgarten teacher.  In addition to teaching, she performs as guest pianist at churches in Bridgewater and New Milford. In April 2009, Roxane was awarded a Teacher Enrichment Grant by the Music Teachers' National Association.  In 2007, Berklee Music awarded Roxane the Gloria Estefan Scholarship. Ms. Lee also holds a Specialist Certificate in Music Theory from Berklee. She studied piano with Anne Vanko Liva and Louis J. Williford. 

Ms. Lee served on the Board of the Connecticut State Music Teachers' Association from 2006-2014 and was chairperson for the Danbury National Guild of Piano Teachers audition center from 2007-2010. She was the Co-President of the Western Chapter of the Connecticut State Music Teachers' Association, affiliated with the MTNA from 2009-2010.  From 2008-2010, Ms. Lee served as Webmaster and Membership Chair for this organization.  Ms. Lee has presented a teacher's workshop for the WCMTA in 2008, and founded the pedagogy discussion group.  From 2008-2009 she also served as Publicity Chair. She has served as membership chair for the WCMTA since 2019.  As Music Coordinator for the Moms Club of New Milford, from 2007-2012, Ms. Lee offered free group music classes for the children of its members. A MusicLink teacher from 2011-13, Ms. Lee has offered scholarships to student on the basis of financial need.  In addition, she has served on the Board of Advisors for Artistry Alliance since 2008. In 2013, she joined the Board of the Schubert Club of Fairfield County as the Corresponding Secretary, a position she held until 2024. In addition, she has served as a judge for the Young Musicians' Festival since 2014. In 2020, she co-founded the charity Masks for New Milford, with her daughter to provide free cloth masks for charities that serve the underprivileged. She and her family have sewn and donated over 1000 masks.
