2021-2022 Events
Fall Online Concert: Co-Chairs: Irina Zaruzny and Ludmila Ozeryansky
The Western Connecticut Music Teachers Association is excited to host a music event, a fundraiser for Ukraine, on Saturday, May 14, from 2-6 p.m. The free event, titled YOUNG MUSICIANS FOR UKRAINE, will take place at the Newtown Meeting House, located at 31 Main Street in Newtown. This special gathering will feature live performances by students under 19 years of age. One hundred percent of all proceeds will be donated to support and restore lives in Ukraine and other countries where families have been displaced. We will accept monetary donations to the UN Refugee Agency (USA for UNHCR) both at the event and online.
We encourage your students to participate in this meaningful music event and sign up by April 25 using the link below. There is no fee for participation; however, attendance is limited to the first 60 people who register.
2019-20 Events
On October 27, 2019, at times TBD, we hosted a Halloween Concert at Valley Presbyterian Church, located at 21 West Whisconier Rd., Brookfield, CT. The chair for this music event was Margarita Nuller. Please note that applications must be received by October 17, 2019.
The Joy of Spring Festival, initially scheduled for April 25, 2020, was CANCELLED due to COVID-19. This event was set to run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, located at 55 Country Club Rd., Cheshire, CT. The chair was Marianne Virgie, with committee members including Inna Sherman and Lumila Ozeryansky. Applications for this festival must be postmarked by April 11, 2020. 2017-18 Events
In October 2017, we held a Fall Chapter Informal Recital, chaired by Diane Cooke.
On March 11, 2018, the Ensemble Festival took place at 21 West Whisconier Rd., Brookfield, with chairs Diane Cooke and Beate Neblett overseeing the event.
Finally, on April 21, 2018, the Spring Festival was hosted at St. James Lutheran Church, located at 111 Peter Rd., Southbury, CT, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event was chaired by Inna Sherman and Irina Zaruzny.
